Van Trang wins women's 42km at Y Ty Golden Season 2026: 'I run with my legs, not with gossips' mouths'

On September 6, 2026, Van Trang, also known as Jang Doll, crossed the finish line of the 42km distance at the Y Ty Golden Season 2026 race in 4 hours 26 minutes. She ranked first among women and second overall, finishing behind only one male runner. The route around La Thẩn Mountain has more than 1,300 meters of cumulative elevation gain, making the result even more impressive. Van Trang said she relied on discipline, steady breathing and proper energy intake during the steep climbs. After her finish photo was shared online, some users made inappropriate comments about her body, with one person sarcastically saying she ran while carrying two grapefruits. Van Trang responded firmly: “I dare anyone to carry two grapefruits for 42km or 55km of mountain trails. I run with my legs, not with my appearance. Criticism only gives me extra mental vitamin C. At the end of the day, I still finished and I am happy. Judge as you like, I run with my own legs, not with gossips’ mouths.” The Hanoi-based mother of four also urged the community to respect female athletes. She said women in sport should first be recognized for effort and achievement, not appearance. She refused to change her sportswear just to avoid judgment, explaining that comfort and safety come first. Van Trang’s next goals are the 70km distance at VMM and the 100km race at the end of 2026.
